DSP members and the new Alpha class pledges were invited to go to the University Recreation Center challenge course. The event included several teambuilding activities such as a trust fall and low ropes challenges.

Casino Time at Bishop Place Senior Living Center

Members of Deltasig spent time on Saturday afternoon hosting a Casino Social for the local residents of Bishop Place Senior Living Center. Both members and residents had a great time playing BINGO, Blackjack, and Poker. A raffle was also held in which several residents won Cougar memorabilia, which they wore right after while watching the Cougar game on television. Delta Sigma Pi hopes to continue this relationship with Bishop Place and have an even better event next time. Ideas for improvement include bigger and better prizes from local sponsors and a Texas Hold ‘em tournament.

Recruitment Underway

Recruitment is well underway and included several activities this year. On September 3rd the brothers met with potential new members (PNMs) at the infamous Zeppoz bowling social. The following day included an event at the new Cafe Moro coffee house expansion in Adam’s Mall, which included a brief presentation from owner Keith Bloom about his hopes and plans for the new shop. The new location boasts a full kitchen and has already been supplying the downtown location with fresh baked goods. Bloom also explained how he hopes to launch a successful catering service and serve breakfast until 7 p.m.
Recruitment activities continued the following week with a visit with the owner of The Daily Grind in downtown Pullman. The next day a meet the chapter event followed the Carson Center Student Welcome. The meet the chapter event included a brief presentation about who/what Delta Sigma Pi is as well as time to just meet chapter members and ask questions, if they couldn’t make it to other events to do so. Our organized recruitment events concluded with three days of interviews. Over 25 PNMs were interviewed and bids are to be given out personally or mailed during the week of September 24th.
